Education to Employability

The program’s goal is to ensure that all guests develop the personal qualities, skills, knowledge, understanding, and attitudes that will give them a strong foundation for lifelong learning and work.

Education to Employability assists guests with:

  1. Developing knowledge about the different career options available to them
  2. Discovering what their skills and personal capabilities are
  3. Recognizing the importance of choosing a fulfilling career
  4. Realizing the importance of enjoying work
  5. Knowing they can make an informed career or educational choices.

This support provides guests with the confidence and competence to make informed decisions specifically about employment in our area or any place they would like to settle. We have started weekly classes and support that include 12 step support groups, a financial training series, yoga and more.

The Education to Employability Program will be integrated into PASS’s case management (CM) structure. The expanded aspect of focusing on employability and education will result in guests becoming even more engaged in furthering skill development.

Currently, our CM services provide ongoing individual assessment, service plan development, arranging for necessary services, follow-up, and ongoing monitoring of guest’s status and the services delivered. This added aspect will increase conversations and goal setting with a specific focus on employability and/or life-long learning. CM provides a mechanism for managing this specific delivery of service and the monitoring for achieving goals that will help strengthen guests’ long-term successes.
