The DAV Family Shelter opened in February, 2013 and became the first family shelter in Yavapai County. The family shelter houses six families, and has 2 shared kitchens, 4 restrooms with showers, a laundry facility, and a playground.
Guests who stay at the family shelter receive case management services including resources and referrals, goal setting assistance, and access to computers for job searching and resume writing.
Through our partnership with the DAV Chapter 16 and with support from the United Way of Yavapai County, the Arizona Community Foundations of Yavapai County, the City of Prescott, the Jewish Community Foundations and many other supportive foundations and individuals, the Family Shelter is a safe haven for homeless families in our community. Without community support, families would have to split up or possibly camp or live in their car.
The DAV Family Shelter gives families the temporary support they need to move from crisis to stability.
